My Background

I'm Alish Chhetri, a Software Engineering student at Allegheny College with a minor in Psychology, expected to graduate in May 2025. As an Alden Scholar and Trustee Scholar, I've maintained a 3.67 GPA while pursuing my passion for technology and human-centered design.

My interdisciplinary education in both software engineering and psychology has shaped my approach to creating intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly technologies. I believe that the most effective technological solutions emerge from a deep understanding of both the technical aspects and the human experience.

Skills & Expertise

My technical skill set spans multiple programming languages including Python, JavaScript, C++, SQL, R, Java, and VBA. I'm proficient in unit testing, web development, data analysis, computer vision, and all phases of the software development life cycle.

Beyond technical skills, I'm passionate about problem-solving, effective communication, and collaborative teamwork. Through my professional experiences and academic projects, I've developed strong leadership and project management abilities that allow me to guide projects from concept to completion.

Education & Experience

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering at Allegheny College, I've complemented my academic education with practical experience in various roles:

As a Post Processing Intern at Acutec Precision Aerospace, I developed software that automated packaging configurations for over 12,000 SKUs, saving approximately 1,000 hours annually.
At Allegheny College's Computer and Information Science Department, I developed Chasten, a Python-based static analysis tool that uses XPath expressions to detect AST patterns.
As an IT Technician at Allegheny College, I've provided support for over 1,000 students and conducted a comprehensive network audit to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.

I'm also involved in leadership roles as the Secretary of ACM Allegheny College Student Chapter, where I co-founded the chapter and organized the college's first-ever hackathon. Additionally, I serve as a Teaching Assistant in the Computer and Information Science Department, mentoring 40+ students and enhancing their programming skills.

Projects & Research

I'm currently working on several exciting projects:

Pseudo: A senior thesis project simulating omni-model behavior by integrating diverse APIs, including LLMs, text-to-image, and text-to-video.
Autonomous Drone Pathfinding & Collision Avoidance: Developing navigation systems using simulated LiDAR in Unreal Engine 5 with reinforcement learning and genetic algorithms.
Typewriter Piano: A multisensory interaction design project accepted at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) 2025, merging audio, visual, and interactive elements.

Through these projects, I'm exploring the intersection of technology, human perception, and creative expression while developing practical solutions to complex problems.
